Web Operations Manager/Web Development

Web Operations Manager and Developer position to support a major program office at a federal civilian agency. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on demonstrable success supporting high profile federal websites. Experience working in and managing a 100% telework environment with a distributed team is highly desirable

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This full-time 100% telework position will require the ability to work independently; and demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication and strong technical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or extensive professional experience in management of complex website operations, with at least 10 years’ experience developing or managing websites.
  • Advanced knowledge of website development, including technologies such as PDF, HTML, ASP, ASP.NET, XML and CSS.
  • Expert knowledge of web development standards and federal regulations including Section 508 accessibility and the ability to implement those standards web content and to various types of file formats.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects, utilizing a diverse team of web developers with a wide range of skill sets.
  • Ability to communicate well and work closely with program staff and contractors.

Skills: Will have 10+ years of progressive experience in the following areas:

  • Website content management systems and development;
  • Knowledge of PDF, HTML, ASP, ASP.NET, XML and CSS;
  • Expertise in federal standards and regulations (Section 508) in various file formats;
  • Working and managing a distributed team; and
  • Active ED 6C Public Trust clearance.

Content Specialist/Web Developer

Position Summary: Mid-Level Web Content Specialist to support a major program office at a federal civilian agency. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of hands-on demonstrable success supporting high profile federal websites. Experience working in a 100% telework environment with a distributed team is highly desirable.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive website content updates to a large, complex, and high-profile federal civilian website.
  • Leverage your solid understanding of PDF, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies to accept functional requirements and translate them into updated web and electronic document products.
  • Assess and transform websites and electronic documents into Section 508 compliant products. Understand and implement website design, statistical, and publication standards

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • This full-time 100% telework position will require the ability to work independently; and demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication and strong technical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or extensive professional experience in developing websites and managing website content, with at least five (5) years’ experience developing or managing websites.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of website support specifically with each of the following technologies: PDF, HTML, and CSS. A familiarity with ASP.net is also desired.
  • Expert knowledge of web standards and federal regulations including Section 508 accessibility and the ability to implement those standards in various file formats.

Skills: Will have 8+ years of progressive experience in the following areas:

.Net Developer

Sanametrix is developing an online survey collection & line-of-business web application using the Microsoft stack for the Department of Education. This is an opportunity to get on at the ground floor with a brand-new project using the latest-and-greatest in .NET and ALT.NET.

The ideal candidate is one who produces results, takes initiative, has strong problem solving skills, is detail-oriented and can work effectively as a team member.

Required Skills:

  • Web development: Experience building a clean, stateless, RESTful n-tier MVC application. Expertise in basic web technologies like HTTP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC with the Razor view engine along with jQuery and its dependent libraries.
  • C#: More important than experience with any specific language is the ability to think in both imperative and declarative/functional terms.
  • Relational databases: Thorough knowledge of SQL, table design, stored procedures, etc.
  • ORM: Experience with object persistence is welcome.

Desired Skills:

  • Toolchain: We’re using Git as our SCM, TeamCity for our CI, and JIRA for issue-tracking.
  • Cloud: Experience with Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2 instances and Elastic Beanstalk)
  • Consulting: Ability to turn client business process into an implementable design.
  • Experience with PHP web development a plus.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area and/or the equivalent experience.

Lead .Net Developer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test and implement new Windows and web software applications
  • Enhance the performance of application and system
  • Oversee the maintenance of existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects
  • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to Visual Studio, ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript,and C#
  • Create and deliver data-driven reports; Develop project schedules and determine/acquire resources as needed
  • Create technical specifications and test plans
  • Create new and extend existing operational documentation
  • Recommend new processes software and/or systems to improve internal information systems efficiency
  • Serve as liaison between team members and department management

Job Requirements:

Must have Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in CS/IS/IT and 1 yr of experience in job offered/Software Developer/similar position. In lieu of Master’s degree plus 1 yr, employer will accept Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent and 5 years progressive, post-baccalaureate experience.

Experience must include 1 yr of experience using ASP.NET, JavaScript, and C#; and enhancing the performance of application and system.
